On April 9th, Michael Driscoll School hosted over twenty attendees from The Sixth National Chinese Language Conference. Our eighth grade volunteers Ethan, Louie , Louis , Jacob and Vishnu led the visitors on a tour of the school - all in Mandarin Chinese! The guests enjoyed observing several Chinese classes in action and were impressed by Driscoll's unique community. The National Chinese Language Conference celebrates the importance of world language education and the teachers and students who engage each day in the process. Engaging lectures and workshops reinforced to attendees Lan Wu, Wan Wang, and Sabrina Lou that broadening access to Chinese language learning increases self-confidence, global awareness, and academic success.
A very special thanks to Karyn Wang and Jenny Kokones for registering our teachers and providing refreshments as well as generous gifts to our guests.
Thanks to David Youkilis, Dawn Carney (K-8 World Language Coordinator), Wan Wang, Lan Wu, Brian Sheehan
